Churches using CaptionKit for Chinese

Both directions
Translate to and from Chinese
CaptionKit listens to whoever is speaking and translates live. Pick the language your pastor preaches in, then the languages your congregation reads and listens in.
English → Chinese
Welcome Chinese speakers into your service
International students, new migrants and grandparents who came to live with family follow the whole sermon in their own language and script, sitting with everyone else.
Chinese → English
Preach in Mandarin or Cantonese, reach the next generation
Chinese-speaking churches caption in English for children who grew up speaking English, spouses and visitors, and add more languages for the wider community.
Mandarin and Cantonese
Three ways to read and hear Chinese
Chinese isn't one audience. Offer the spoken language and the script your people grew up with, each with its own voice for audio translation.
简体中文
Mandarin (Simplified)
Mainland China, Malaysia and Singapore, and most recent Mandarin-speaking migrants.
欢迎大家今天来到教会。
繁體中文
Mandarin (Traditional)
Taiwan, and many long-established overseas Chinese communities.
歡迎大家今天來到教會。
粵語
Cantonese (Traditional)
Hong Kong and Cantonese-speaking families, with written Cantonese and a Cantonese voice.
歡迎大家今日嚟到教會。
Everyone reads along in Chinese
One QR code serves the whole room. Each person opens it, chooses Chinese and follows the sermon on their own phone, in the browser or the free iOS and Android apps. No account needed.
The same captions can go on your screens as lower thirds in ProPresenter, OBS or vMix.

Questions
Mandarin or Cantonese?
Both. CaptionKit offers Mandarin in Simplified and Traditional characters, and Cantonese in Traditional characters, each with its own audio voice. You can offer all three in the same service.
Simplified or Traditional characters?
Ask your congregation where they're from. Mainland China, Malaysia and Singapore read Simplified; Taiwan and Hong Kong read Traditional. Many churches offer both, and each person picks on their own phone.
Can our pastor preach in Mandarin or Cantonese?
Yes. Mandarin and Cantonese both work as the spoken language, so you can caption a Chinese-language sermon in English or any of over 200 other languages.
Can people listen instead of reading?
Yes. Add Mandarin or Cantonese as an audio translation and people listen through their own headphones on the free iOS and Android apps or in the browser.
Do congregation members need an account?
No. They scan a QR code or open your caption link and choose their language. No sign-up needed.
